What is the difference between a Life Coach and a Consultant
Coaching is predominately right-brained. It’s about growth and evolution and life transition. Coaching is a co-creative process.
A Coach will help you find out what it is you really want out of life and “coach” you to achieve it. Coaching is always about YOU. Coaches are non-judgmental and do not provide therapy or tell you what you should do next. You hire a Coach to assist you to design the life you want . A coach helps you find the answers to your issues yourself, and in so doing, you learn more about what is really important to you in life, and you become more responsible and more aware on more levels.
Coaches also assist career professionals who have forgotten how to “have a life” and no longer have work/life balance.
Consulting is mostly a left-brained activity. It’s about asking for advice on a specific situation and taking linear steps towards that goal.
Asking a Consultant for advice, you are asking for answers and solutions and action steps you should take to reach a certain result.
You are getting answers based on the consultant’s specific expertise and their personal outlook and view on your situation. Most of the time once you get their report you have to motivate yourself.
What is the difference between a Life Coach and a Therapist
A coach is taking you from where you are and helps you move forward to a more balanced life or to get clear about what you really want. The focus is on what is possible and how to design your life to get there.
Coaching assumes a co-equal partnership between coach and client.
A therapist seeks to remove pain and heal emotional wounds with a treatment plan.
Therapy assumes the therapist to be more of the expert, and in control.
Is success guaranteed?
